Chapter 00
How to use this book
A field manual you can read on a screen and print onto paper that still works when the screen does not.
This is a working book. It is meant to live in a kitchen drawer, a glove box, and a phone, and to make sense at 2 a.m. when a label has faded. It is not a chemistry degree and it is not a dare.
Wolf Den Foods is a family operation in Arizona. Four generations of putting food by taught us the same lesson every old pantry teaches: a few well-chosen, well-stored materials beat a closet of single-use products that expire, leak, and cannot be replaced when the truck does not roll.
How to move through it
- ▸Read Safety, Storage, and Never Mix before you buy a single oxidizer.
- ▸Use the Compound Index when you are holding a bag and need the page for that bag.
- ▸Use Field Tools to dose emergency water from EPA tables without doing arithmetic in the dark.
- ▸Print the booklet and keep a paper copy next to the chemical shelf. Paper does not need a charger.
From our family to yours. Real food. Real preparedness. Real peace of mind.
